Project Summary
Created using Unreal Engine 4, Dragon’s Grove lets you raise and care for your own scaley dragon companions. Shape their personality by feeding them different fruits, increasing their stats allowing them to run, fly, play with toys, and become more powerful.
The gameplay for Dragon’s Grove was inspired by the Chao Garden side mode from Sonic Adventure 2 as well as Wobbledogs.
Feeding your dragons not only increases their stats but also makes them drop “Dew”, a valuable currency in the Grove.
Visit the dragon store in the center of the grove to spend your Dew on a variety of products including new dragon eggs, toys for the dragons to play with, and even a renaming service to give each dragon a unique identity.
The project was focused on providing a high-quality User Experience, thus Dragons Grove employs many techniques to improve its User Experience including:
- Consistent and Minimalistic UI, all designed and exported from Figma.
- Both diegetic and non-diegetic audiovisual feedback for actions performed.
- The use of affordances and signifiers to assist players in understanding game mechanics.
